Dr. Kourtney uses a variety of techniques as well as functional and muscle testing to analyze and adjust your spine and extremities. She works with all age groups.
Corrective exercises are given based on the deficiencies that are found during your first assessment by Coach Frank and Dr. Kourtney. These correctives are given to not only help with those deficiencies that are found but to also hold the adjustment better and increase your overall strength and performance.
Here at ChiroMechanics, we utilize cupping and graston. Cupping helps with pain, inflammation, lack of blood flow, as well as helps with relaxation and overall well-being. By decreasing muscle tension this can help to improve overall blood flow along with promoting cell repair. Cupping may ease symptoms for certain conditions such as back pain, neck pain, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, knee pain and Much More!
Graston help the doctor detect soft tissue restrictions. Utilizing this technique helps with quicker healing outcomes overall. This is a great therapy to be used for multiple different conditions such as lateral epicondylosis, achilles tendinosis, plantar fasciitis, ITB syndrome, MCL/LCL sprains, ankle sprains, inflammation reduction, postsurgical and Much More!
At ChiroMechanics, we now utilize Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy - EMTT which provides a new non-invasive procedure for treating chronic musculoskeletal diseases.
We utilize the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) or the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) as an initial assessment for each of our clients to get a baseline on where they are. This test allows us to see if there are any abnormalities, deficiencies and altered movement patterns with patients.
We offer personalized strength training to specifically fit your personal goals that are discussed in the first initial assessment. Through the programming breakdown of movements are worked on to make sure we build you from the bottom up and you are building strength on a solid platform.
Every patient is given the opportunity to see their movement patterns with all strength and speed work. This allows the athletes to see small and large mistakes they are doing during the movements and us as clinicians the ability to give good feedback to help the athlete perfect their movement patterns. For example you can see in the picture above where we are breaking down a patients running mechanics to improve their technique to further improve their overall speed and performance.
Not everyone is an athlete! Which we understand here at ChiroMechanics but going through your day-to- day life can be a marathon! From your stay at home moms/dads, to your working moms/dads, grandmas/grandpas, to anyone that wants to get through their day-to-day life without pain and just focus on overall health! We teach everyone what good form and mechanics looks and feels like. How to perform an exercise and how to make movement patterns functional for everyday life!
We cater to all athletes here at ChiroMechanics! We come up with a sport specific as well as speed and agility program based on the sport or sports you are participating in. This program could go through your whole sport season. Working specific needs based on where you are in your season. This is very important because speed and strength work should be manipulated during different phases that you are in during your season preventing future injuries.
Making sure your little athlete gets proper speed and strength training is vital to their success and injury prevention. Most young athletes don't get the opportunity to learn proper running mechanics as well as strength training. Going through running mechanics, and speed work helps to increase motor control and proprioception of a young athlete. Teaches good muscle memory and functional movement. Strength training is great to start at a relatively young age as long as this is done correctly. These movements are all a direct correlation to most athletic drills and mechanics which help increase overall speed and performance along with decreasing risk of injuries.
If you are not close by, don't worry we offer online programming! We can set up a first time assessment if you are able to make it in for the first time and then based off what we find and your goals we can set up a full program that will include corrective exercises, and strength training. We will even request to see videos from your lifts and correctives to help critique form and mechanics. If you are not local at all we can do everything through the phone with Zoom and FaceTime by analyzing your movement patterns and your goals and again create a complete program for your needs.
Nutrition is a huge part into overall health as well as strength and performance. We offer Nutritional advice to help steer you in the right direction to help you make better decisions and how to keep track of calories. This helps your body with recovery and be able to withstand the stresses you place on it during day-to-day life and your sport.
